BOSTON — Thomas Netzer, chief operating officer at Wayfair, is stepping down at the end of the year. Netzer, who has been with Wayfair since 2018, will remain with the retailer for a transition period, serving as a strategic adviser through October 2025.
Niraj Shah, CEO, chairman and co-founder of Wayfair, said Netzer helped establish the company “as synonymous with fast shipping, exceptional customer service and cost-efficiency. Under Thomas’ leadership, we expanded our network of fulfillment centers in North America and Europe and enhanced our CastleGate logistics offering.”
In addition, Jon Blotner, chief commercial officer, will become president-commercial and operations, beginning Jan. 1, 2025. The new role reflects Wayfair’s continued integration of customer- and supplier-focused activities with supply chain capabilities under Blotner’s leadership.
“We have a tremendous opportunity to bolster relationships and deliver even greater value across our customer and supplier experience with our world-class logistics,” said Shah. “The integration will strengthen our decision-making and enhance our ability to lead in the market.”
Blotner has been with Wayfair since 2016, serving in a variety of leadership roles.
